Ne Zha 2 becomes highest-grossing animation film of all time

With a collection of $104 million, it has also become the highest-grossing Imax release in China, surpassing Avengers: Endgame

Ne Zha 2, the Chinese animation film, has overtaken Inside Out 2 to become the most successful animation film of all time in terms of gross collection. As per Xinhua News Agency, the film has minted 12.319 billion yuan (around $1.72 billion) at the global box office. China is the biggest source for almost all of the film's box office collection. It has also been released in Canada and the USA. With a collection of $104 million, it has also become the highest-grossing Imax release in China, surpassing Avengers: Endgame.

The Yang Yu directorial follows the events of 2019's Ne Zha. With the titular character (Joseph Cao) and Ao Bing (Han Mo) becoming spirits, Taiyi (Zhang Jiaming) must overcome many obstacles to rebuild their mortal bodies with a magical lotus.

The Ne Zha sequel is on the verge of entering the list of ten highest-grossing films of all time, with only The Lion King standing on its path. The film is yet to release in other international markets.
