Dwayne Johnson pays tribute to John Cena on latter's wrestling retirement

Dwayne Johnson and John Cena both appear in Fast X, the tenth film in the Fast and Furious franchise

Dwayne Johnson shared a video message on social media, as a tribute to John Cena, who retired from wrestling on December 13. Though not appearing together in films, Johnson and Cena were part of Fast X (2023).

Taking to his X handle, Johnson conveyed his regards to Cena and his family. Johnson also recounted the memories of the times that Cena and Johnson have shared. While acknowledging, their rivalry in the WWE, Johnson shares that he will always be proud of that.

Johnson captioned his video by writing, "John, you epitomize one of my favorite quotes, 'it's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice'. Congratulations on your historic and extraordinary WWE career, my friend. Have fun, tear it down, and as always, 'thank you for the house'."

Cena started his WWE career in 2001. He made his first film as a lead, with The Marine (2006). He later went on to star in several action comedies, like Bumblebee and The Suicide Squad.
