The makers of AR Murugadoss' upcoming film, Madharaasi, announced that the second single from the film's album, entitled 'Vazhiyiraen', will be released on August 23. The film stars Sivakarthikeyan and Rukmini Vasanth in the lead, and will release on September 5.

Anirudh will compose the music for Madharaasi, and Vignesh Shivan will write the lyrics for 'Vazhiyiraen'. Anirudh is a regular collaborator for AR Murugadoss and Sivakarthikeyan. Anirudh collaborated with the director on Darbar and Sarkar. With Sivakarthikeyan, the composer has collaborated on 3, Ethir Neechal, Maan Karate, Remo, Kaaki Sattai, Velaikkaran, Doctor, and Don (2022).

The rest of the cast of the film includes Vidyut Jammwal, Biju Menon, Shabeer Kallarakkal, and Vikranth. Vidyut reunites with AR Murugadoss after Thuppakki, which starred Vijay and Kajal Agarwal in the lead.

The crew of the film includes Sudeep Elamon as the cinematographer and Sreekar Prasad as the editor.
