London Files trailer out: Arjun Rampal plays a dopey detective

CE Features

"Are you high?” a character asks Arjun Rampal’s sleepless detective in the trailer for London Files. “…yeah, just a little bit,” concedes homicide sleuth Om Singh.

On this sportive tone proceeds Voot Select's new thriller mini-series. Set in, obviously, London, the series is about Om’s mission to track down a missing girl, while battling inner demons and political upheavals in the English capital. The girl’s father, Amar Roy (Purab Kohli in a scruffy beard) is a media mogul in support of a controversial anti-immigration bill, despite being of Indian origin. The case seems to set Om down a dark path, riven with secrets, conspiracies and violence.

London Files also stars Gopal Datt, Sapna Pabbi, Medha Rana, Sagar Arya and Eva Jane Willis in key roles. Directed by Sachin Pathak and produced by Jar Pictures, the six-episode series is set to premiere on April 21 on Voot Select.

Talking about the show, Arjun shares, “London Files is unlike any project I have done, in fact I do believe there isn’t any project like this that I have ever seen both on the domestic or international platforms. It explores many issues that we face today on a day-to-day level as Om (my character) investigates a high-profile case. The character of Detective Om is unpredictable, flawed and complexed, and I must admit, portraying the character had an impact on me personally."
