Mitra Re, the first song from Ajay Devgn’s Runway 34, was released on Saturday, on the occasion of Ajay's birthday. The song, composed by Jasleen Royal, captures turbulence within and without. It is sung by Arijit Singh and Jasleen with lyrics by Aditya Sharma.

Runway 34 revolves around a commercial pilot, Captain Vikrant Khanna (Ajay), and his role in a mysterious landing incident. The film also features Amitabh Bachchan. 

The video of Mitra Re offers more clues to the plot. We see visuals from aboard Vikrant's plane as it gets caught in turbulence. This is punctuated with scenes from later on, where Vikrant has seemingly saved many lives but faces guilt and scrutiny. Amitabh Bachchan, meanwhile, appears in a shiny leather jacket surveying a runway. Their characters will likely clash in the quest for justice.

Talking about Mitra Re, Ajay says, "The beauty of Mitra Re is its lilting quality. The song is effective, it doesn’t distract from the screenplay and Arijit’s voice has that haunting quality that gives it repeat value.’’

Runway 34 releases on April 29, 2022.
