The trailer for Candy, an upcoming murder mystery series starring Richa Chadha and Ronit Roy, is out. Set to stream on Voot Select, the show is directed by Ashish R. Shukla and produced by Optimystix Entertainment.

Candy, erm, unwraps with a death in a mountain school. DSP Ratna Sankhawar (Richa) is called in to solve the murder. She's joined in her quest by a troubled school teacher (Ronit). Though both leads appear to mean well, the mystery only deepens. Too many suspects line up in the 2m19s trailer. There's a malevolent rural legend called Masaan (incidentally, also the name of Richa's 2015 critical hit), a peddler who goes by White Rabbit, and, most fascinatingly, a politician dubbed 'Money Ranaut'. Did any of them kill teenager Mehul Awasthi? Or is this some entirely different kaand

Speaking about the show, Richa shares, "I've always loved to experiment with my character and roles. With Voot Select's CANDY, it’s yet another opportunity to play a distinct character of a cop with a vivid character sketch. It has been challenging to play - a badass policewoman. Get ready to witness how DSP Ratna from Rudrakund unwraps the sin”.

Ronit comments, "The premise of CANDY is really enthralling and exciting. It is a story that holds a great amount of mystery, fear, hope and suspense. I feel it’s an edge of the seat kind of thriller. I’ve had the privilege to have worked with many talented actors and directors and this one is no different."

Candy also stars Manu Rishi Chadha and Nakul Sehdev (Gully Boy) in key roles. The series premieres on September 8 on Voot Select.
