Shweta Singh Kirti, sister of late actor Sushant Singh Rajpur recently spoke about her brother’s post-mortem and what she learnt from her interactions with the professional who conducted Sushant’s post-mortem. Sushant passed away on June 14, 2020. 

In a video statement, Shweta said, “We got to know recently that that post-mortem person who did post-mortem on Bhai told that there was stun gun use and his leg was broken and a lot of force was used on him. His eyes were hurt.” It is to be noted that in all the previous investigation reports made public, Sushant’s demise was declared a clear case of suicide, and all reports of any other physical injuries were written off. 

Speaking about the emotional reaction of people she met after returning from Atlanta, Shweta added, “There were hundreds of you coming and hugging me and crying, crying for Bhai. When it happens with you, you can still forgive, you know, something like that. But if it happens to your own somebody whom you love, you just somehow takes a lot more courage to forgive.”

Sushant, who made his film debut in 2013, died on June 14, 2020.  Sushant’s demise was followed by a strong discourse on social media as well as media trial, which attributed his suicide to being abandoned by the bigwigs of film industry on account of being an outsider with no insider connections. 

On 7 September 2020, an FIR was filed against the late actor's sisters Priyanka and Meetu, which claimed that Rajput was ‘unlawfully prescribed psychotrophic substances at the behest of his sister Priyanka.’ Later, while the FIR was dropped against Meetu, the one against Priyanka was upheld. 

Sushant's last on-screen appearance happened posthumously in July 2020, with the Mukesh Chhabra directorial Dil Bechara.
