In a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati, public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, the subject of the upcoming film Prahaar, made a shocking revelation about terrorist Ajmal Kasab to the quiz show's host, Amitabh Bachchan. Ujjwal, who stood against Kasab at the time of his trial, revealed that the terrorist said that he came to Mumbai to meet Amitabh. The attorney's revelation came in response to Amitabh's question about why it took four years after the Mumbai terror attacks for the death sentence against Kasab to come. The legendary actor opined that Kasab should have been buried to death at the time itself and asked why the sentence took so long.

In response to the lawyer's shocking comment, the actor said that if Kasab had come to his house back then, he would not have left it and would have been killed there itself.

Ujjwal Nikam also revealed that the verdict in the case took time because of the justice system in India considering one innocent until proven guilty. Kasab argued that he had no part in the terrorist attack and that Ismail open fired at the victims, but he was found guilty and hanged to death in 2012.

On the film front, the biopic Prahaar: The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam stars Rajkummar Rao as the prosecutor and Wamiqa Gabbi in the female lead, in addition to Lalit Prabhakar as Ajmal Kasab. The film is directed by Avinash Arun Dhaware from a screenplay by Sumit Roy. While Ujjwal was also part of cases related to the 1993 Bombay bombings and Gulshan Kumar's murder, the upcoming film will explore just his role in the investigation into the Mumbai attack.

Produced by Dinesh Vijan of the Maddock Films banner, the film is set for an October 16 release in theatres.
