Last week, we had reported about Hanuman Ansh emerging as the third-highest Hindi grosser, after it surpassed the collections of Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla. On Sunday, the devotional-drama added new feats to its box office accomplishment, as it crossed the worldwide collections of films like Yash-starrer Toxic and Ram Charan-starrer Peddi.
On Sunday, Hanuman Ansh collected a nett of Rs 13.75 crores in India and Rs 1.5 crores overseas, according to Sacnilk. Such strong figures took the film’s worldwide box office figures to Rs 347.05 crores, taking it past both Toxic and Peddi. Peddi had grossed Rs 341.90 crores worldwide. Meanwhile, despite being a box office, Yash’s Toxic had managed to earn Rs 341.99 crores, due to its mammoth opening day figures and initial hype.
In the past week, Hanuman Ansh had surpassed worldwide collections of major hits from other industries like Jana Nayagan, Bethlehem Kudumba Unit, Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu, and Karuppu while maintaining a steady lead ahead of Mirzapur: The Movie. It must be noted that the film has managed these astounding figures despite a delayed release in overseas markets, unlike other hits which benefitted a lot from their overseas collections.
Earlier this month, Hanuman Ansh also broke many records previously held by Dhurandhar 2, including the highest week-5 collections. There are unprecedented figures for any Hindi film, let alone a film made on a reportedly economical budget of Rs 2 crores.
Now, all eyes are on the coming two weeks where, if it maintains the momentum, Hanuman Ansh will likely cross the domestic collections of Border 2, which had collected Rs 329.43 crores nett in India.
Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film is based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, more popularly known as Maharaj ji. Produced by Swambhu Media Network, Ragini S, Namrata G S, and Anupriya A Nagar, Hanuman Ansh features Chandan K Anand and Shobhinav Satyaa in the lead cast, and actors like Nikhil Dubey, Udaysinh Rajput, Purnima Tiwari, and Mannish Chaudhary in the ensemble cast.
