Earlier this week, we had reported about Hanuman Ansh, the recently-released devotional drama that defied all trade expectations to emerge as a sleeper hit. On Friday, however, the film yet again shocked all trade experts as it made a new record, previously held by Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
On September 4, i.e. it’s 29th day at the box office, Hanuman Ansh collected Rs. 10.00 crore nett at the domestic box office. With these figures, the film broke the record for highest day 29 figures, previously held by Dhurandhar 2 that had collected Rs 8.75 crore nett on its 29th day.
Hanuman Ansh also inched closer to 100 crore figure (gross) with its strong performance on Friday. These figures are all the more impressive because the film made such strong earnings despite the arrival of Mirzapur: The Movie in theatres on Friday. Considering the strong upward trend, Hanuman Ansh is highly likely to add another 25 crores over the weekend and steadily move forward with an aim of 200 crore figure in the next two weeks.
Interestingly, despite its staggering domestic success, the film is yet to be released in the overseas market. On Thursday, Hombale Films had announced that it will distribute the film’s overseas release, starting from September 11.
Written and directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film is based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, more popularly known as Maharaj ji. The film released in theatres on August 7.
Produced by Swambhu Media Network, Ragini S, Namrata G S, and Anupriya A Nagar, Hanuman Ansh features Chandan Anand and Shobhinav Satyaa in the lead cast, and actors like Nikhil Dubey, Udaysinh Rajput, Purnima Tiwari, and Mannish Chaudhary in the ensemble.
