The devotional film Hanuman Ansh, based on the life of Neem Karoli baba, has become an unprecedented success at the box office. The film, made at a miniscule budged of about Rs 2 crore, has already amassed Rs 65 crore at the box office. A whopping 3000 per cent rate of return. It is also receiving praise from people of the industry. Recently, Kangana Ranaut and Madhur Bhandarkar lauded the film. Now, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has shared a video expressing his thoughts on the film after watching the film with his child.

Taking to his Instagram, Sehwag posted a video of himself directly addressing the viewer and said, “Some experiences, some people are such that there are not enough words to describe them… how so much you try to tell about them, you cannot do justice. Some of my closest friends are devotees of Neem Karoli Baba. Around 10 years ago, one of my friends had told me about him. Since then I have been hearing and reading about him. I have had an immense attraction towards Maharaj ji- his personality, his devotion, and his blessings have transformed lives. It shows what he was, one who could make a person meet their true selves.”

The film’s director Vishal Chaturvedi was elated with Sehwag’s words. Speaking to NDTV he said that the film made him “incredibly happy." He said, “I have always been a huge cricket fan. The day Virender Sehwag retired, I stopped watching cricket. And that man, without us even saying anything to him, went and watched the film on his own with his child. What he wrote and said after watching the film made me feel as though life had come full circle. I was a huge cricket fan, and what he did was so heart-warming. It made me incredibly happy."

Vishal went on to say he would want cricketer Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma to also watch the film. The two have been followers of Neem Karoli baba and have also visited his ashram in Uttarakhand in the past. “I want Virat and Anushka to watch the film as well, if something along those lines can be arranged,” he said.

Hanuman Ansh stars Shobinaw Satyaa, Vihaan Shedge, and Chandan Anand among others.
