Abhay Verma, who rose to limelight with his work in Munjya and The Family Man, will next be seen in a key role in the much anticipated Shah Rukh Khan starrer King. During a recent interview, the actor spoke about the working experience of working with Shah Rukh and other big stars, also sharing the one piece of advice Shah Rukh gave him. 

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Abhay talked about how the Jawan actor has always been a source of inspiration for him, adding, “I saw dreams because of him. So, to come on the same screen with him was more than a dream. I didn't know it would come true so early, but just to be on the screen meant more than anything to me.”

Recalling a piece of advice that Shah Rukh gave him, Abhay added, “I had asked him how did you choose your early films, to which he said, ‘Although the times were different, just work with people who love you and who you love,’” adding that Shah Rukh’s words complemented his own philosophy as an acting professional. 

Directed by Siddharth Anand, King also stars Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Raghav Juyal, Rani Mukerji, Suhana Khan, Arshad Warsi, Saurabh Shukla and Jaideep Ahlawat in key roles. The film is set for theatrical release on December 24. 

Abhay was recently seen in the Netflix series Operation Safed Sagar, which received plenty of acclaim. His other upcoming projects include Laikey Laikaa, where he shares screen with Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rasha Thadani, and a film with Shanaya Kapoor.
