A few months ago, Surendra Singh Choudhary aka Bittu from Madhya Pradesh became a subject of conversations all over the country, after videos of his efforts to clean Ajnar River in Madhya Pradesh. However, videos are going viral recently of how the river has been polluted again, returning to its state around few months ago. Now Kangana Ranaut has remarked on the issue, calling out people for their lack of responsible etiquette and civic sense.
Taking to her Instagram stories section, Kangana wrote, “This is so sad but also the brutal reality of our nation, people cry about rights all day but never think about their duties.” In her post, Kangana also shared a news report that chronicled, in detail, the journey of Bittu who first attempted a massive clean-up drive of the river.
In the said video, Bittu spoke at length about his pain when he saw months of his hard work go to waste. The footage in the news report also showed Bittu stepping into the water to pull out garbage, making his intentions of proceeding with the clean-up yet again despite the setback. Bittu has also appealed to his social media followers to support him and suggest newer ways to clean the garbage in a more efficient manner so that a similar situation does not arise again.
Bittu had earlier spent nearly 8 months to personally execute the clean-up. His work has been recognised by many prominent public personalities as well as government figures. In September, MP Chief Minister Mohan Yadav felicitated Bittu for his immeasurable contributions towards Ajnar river clean-up.
Bittu has also participated in clean-up drives in other cities like Mumbai and Gurugram.
