On Thursday, Shah Rukh Khan took to social media and expressed his gratitude to each of the birthday wishes he received from a prominent personality. In his wish, Shah Rukh's Jawan director Atlee appreciated the 'Tu Mil Jaaye' song from the actor's upcoming film King. "Thank you for being my mentor, my guide, my well-wisher and my biggest inspiration in this incredible journey. The time spent with you has taught me so much — not just about cinema, but about life, people and staying truly humble," Atlee added.

In his response, Shah Rukh Khan expressed his desire to do another film with Atlee, saying, "Thank you my Jawan captain. Missing the madness of our sets. Let's create some more soon. Love you."

With a reported collection of more than 1,150 crore, according to data from Sacnilk, Jawan is the highest-grossing film in Shah Rukh Khan's career. It is also one of the ten highest-grossing Indian films of all time.

Released in 2023, the film tells the story of Azad Rathore, a jailer played by Shah Rukh, who fights against corruption with a team of highly adept female inmates. The film also stars Nayanthara, Priyamani, Vijay Sethupathi, Sunil Grover, Deepika Padukone, and Sanya Malhotra.

The film received different reviews from audiences in the North and the South at the time of its release. While the South Indian audience, accustomed to Atlee's brand of masala cinema, expressed major reservations about it, those in the North embraced it and hailed Shah Rukh's mass avatar. This difference reflected in the reviews for Jawan as well.

Atlee is yet to direct another film after the 2023 Shah Rukh Khan headliner, although he produced films such as Baby John, starring Varun Dhawan, and Vijay Sethupathi's Baththa. He is now working with Allu Arjun on a big-budget film titled Raaka.
