Former Indian cricket team captain and all-rounder Kapil Dev recently spoke about his taste in cinema. The cricketer has expressed multiple times that he is a regular consumer of films. After the release of director Kabir Khan's 83, starring Ranveer Singh as the captain of India's triumphant cricket world cup campaign, the cricketer said that he has seen the film a few times. Speaking on Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast, he said that when they make a film based on his life, it cannot be make him feel bad.

The cricketer has once again talked about what kind of films he has watched recently. Speaking to The Hindu, Kapil said that he watched Amitabh Bachchan films in his younger days and viewed the legendary actor as his style model. "I grew up watching Amitabh Bachchan saab's films and styling myself on his looks in the films," Kapil said.

The cricketer also expressed his admiration for South Indian cinema. Saying that modern technology allows him to watch films across languages with dubbed dialogues, Kapil Dev stated, "I enjoy all those movies, because they have a lot of meaning."

Kapil added, "I can talk about any South Indian movie, but Baahubali is so good." Then, imitating Allu Arjun's gesture from Pushpa where swipes his hand under his chin, the cricket said that the actor has "done wonderfully well around the world".

Speaking further about what in South Indian cinema piques his interest, Kapil said, "They make a person larger than life. Sometimes, we feel, 'Is that okay?' But that is how the cinema in this part of the world works."
