Kartavya (Netflix, May 15)

The Saif Ali Khan starrer investigative-thriller tells the story of Pawan (Saif), a cop who comes under intense scrutiny after failing to protect a journalist who is shot while under his watch. Set in the fictional North Indian town of Jhamli, the film is directed by Pulkit, who previously made Bhakshak (2024) for Netflix. 

Rasika Duggal will be seen in the role of Saif’s dutiful wife. The supporting cast includes Sanjay Mishra, who plays Saif’s professional partner and Manish Chaudhary as Pawan bullying superior. Renowned journalist Saurabh Dwivedi, meanwhile, will make his acting debut as a villainous godman.

Inspector Avinash S2 (Jio Hotstar, May 15)

The Randeep Hooda starrer actioner series returns with another season on May 15. Directed by Neerraj Pathak, season 2 pits the titular character against crime lord Sheikh (Amit Sial) and the enigmatic Devi (Abhimanyu Singh) as he strives to eliminate the crime cartel in the area. The supporting cast includes Urvashi Rautela, Rajneish Duggal, Shalin Bhanot, and Freddy Daruwala.

Vimal Khanna (MX Player, May 15)

Sunny Hinduja plays the lead role in the upcoming series that’s based on the works of popular detective fiction author Surendra Mohan Pathak. The series will feature him as a drifter who takes a caretaker’s job at a wealthy seaside villa to escape wrongful murder charges, only to find himself buried deeper in another criminal conspiracy which he must stop to save his skin.

Dhurandhar 2 (Jio Hotstar, May 15)

While the makers haven’t confirmed it yet, the massive box office blockbuster starring Ranveer Singh in the lead will reportedly begin streaming this week on JioHotstar. A few days ago, a screenshot went viral where Dhurandhar 2’s listing on Netflix in overseas market could be seen, with May 14 mentioned as premiere date.
