A few days ago, the makers of Main Vaapas Aaunga released the video for their new single ‘Maskara,’ which primarily focuses on Sharvari, who plays the female lead Jiya, and her playful reaction to a blossoming romance in her life. On Friday, Sharvari penned an affectionate note for her director and about the shooting experience of the song.

Taking to her Instagram page, Sharvari wrote, “Kiss-miss yara’ (lowkey my favourite emotion) is a fictional wordplay but so accurately describes the tingling feeling of falling in love for the first time. Imtiaz sir and I referred to this feeling of “Kisss Misss yara” as an emotion Jiya went through many times in her life.”

‘Maskara’ is the second single to be released by the makers, after ‘Kya Kamaal Hai.’ AR Rahman has composed music for the film, while lyrics are by Irshad Kamil.

Sharvari also shared a brief BTS clip where she can be seen discussing the expressions and body language required for the song with the Rockstar director.

Sharvari went on to thank Imtiaz Ali for his guidance and patience, adding, “I’ve learnt so much simply by observing the way you see emotions and storytelling. Thank you for trusting me, encouraging me, and helping me discover shades in my performance that I didn’t even know were there. Forever grateful to have shared this journey with you!”

Main Vaapas Aaunga is Sharvari’s first release since Vedaa (2024). Also starring Vedang Raina, Diljit Dosanjh and Naseeruddin Shah in the lead cast, Main Vaapas Aaunga is slated for theatrical release on June 12.
