Bandar teaser: Bobby Deol plays a fading artist who further crumbles after a life-altering accusation

Anurag Kashyap helms direction for the psychological drama which also stars Sanya Malhotra, Saba Azad, Raj B Shettty and Sapna Pabbi among others

The much-awaited teaser of upcoming Bobby Deol starrer Bandar was released on Thursday. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Bandar is slated for a theatrical release on June 5.

Also starring Sanya Malhotra in a key role, Bandar promises to tell the story of Sameer Mehra (Bobby), a singer whose career might be on a decline even as he enjoys a massive fanbase among women. Struggling with self-hatred, Sameer enters the world of online dating, meeting many women who are equally amused and perplexed by their interactions with a celebrity.  However, things take a steep turn when Sameer finds himself in prison after accusations of sexual misconduct. Are the allegations true? Will Sameer go further into a mode of self-destruction, or manage to retain his sanity under the gruelling prison circumstances.

Bandar promises to be an intense psychological drama, carrying the trademark qualities of an Anurag Kashyap film. Sakshi Mehta Lau is credited as co-director, meanwhile.

Written by Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee, Bandar boasts an impressive ensemble with actors like Indrajith Sukumaran, Saba Azad, Jitendra Joshi, Raj B.Shetty, Sapna Pabbi, Ankush Gedam, Riddhi Sen, and Nagesh Bhonsle on board. 

The key technicians include Aarti Bajaj as editor and Shaaz Rizvi as cinematographer. The film also has multiple composers onboard like Amit Trivedi, Vishal Mishra, Sapan Jagmohan, Payal Dev - Aditya Dev, Sickflip, Blurface, Shivahari Varma.

Bandar is produced by Nikhil Dwivedi, Shivie Pandit & Gaurie Pandit, and presented by Saffron Magicworks.
