Ahead of this year’s edition of MET Gala, there were plenty of speculations about the possible attendance of Deepika Padukone, who made prominent appearances at the iconic event a few times in the past decade.  However, according to reports, Deepika, who recently announced her second pregnancy, will be skipping the event this year.  

As per reports, sources have clarified that Deepika Padukone will not be attending the Met Gala this year. According to the source, “Her priority has always been and continues to be films. With King slated to release at the end of this year and Raaka scheduled to release next year, her priority at the moment is to complete the shoot for these two films.”

Deepika has earlier attended the MET Gala three times in a row, through 2017 to 2019. Her MET Gala appearance in 2019, in particular, received a lot of attention and acclaim. 

Meanwhile, Deepika has two major projects in the pipeline with Shah Rukh Khan-starrer King and Allu Arjun-Atlee project Raaka. A few days ago, it was reported that Deepika wrapped up a few shooting sequences, including a grand entrance and a major action sequence alongside Allu Arjun. Meanwhile, some leaked stills and clips from the sets of King in Cape Town also further amplified speculations among fans.
