Raja Shivaji box office: Riteish Deshmukh starrer earns Rs 23.90 crore in two days

The film earned Rs 12.40 crore net at the domestic box office on the first day and collected Rs 11.50 crore on Saturday

Raja Shivaji, featuring Riteish Deshmukh, has collected over Rs 20 crore at the domestic box office.

The Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company film is directed by Riteish and released in theatres on Friday in Marathi and Hindi. It features the actor in the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The makers shared the box office numbers with a post on their official Instagram handle on Sunday. It featured the poster with the box office numbers written over it.

The film earned Rs 12.40 crore nett at the domestic box office on the first day and collected Rs 11.50 crore on Saturday. The total collection of the film stands at Rs 23.90 crore net at the domestic box office.

According to the makers, the film traces the journey of Shivaji Maharaj from a young man who took a vow to challenge powerful forces to the leader who laid the foundation of Swarajya, and seeks to present his story to audiences beyond linguistic boundaries.

The film is presented by Jio Studios and produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh under the banner of Mumbai Film Company.
