Actor Rakesh Bedi, known for his roles in many of Hindi cinema's popular family dramas and comedies, is getting much attention for his role as Jameel Jamali in Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar and its latest sequel. Amidst the greater attention on him, many are celebrating Rakesh's work over the years, even as fans make viral memes with his character's actions in the Dhurandhar franchise.
One of the posts celebrating Rakesh Bedi's work caught the attention of many fans and even film personalities. The post from the account Official Humans of Bombay traced the actor's journey from his humble beginnings and noted how his fame at the age of 71 reaffirms the notion that age is just a number. Under the post, referring to Rakesh, actor Boman Irani wrote, "You were and will always be a star." Interestingly, Boman and Rakesh have not shared screen space on any widely recognised film yet.
Fans discussed many of Rakesh's titles that brought him much fame and success, notably Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, Yes Boss, Shrimaan Shrimati, and
Hum Sab Ek Hain, among others. On the other hand, actor and TV personality Gitikka Ganju Dhar called him "an incredible artiste and a star of stars."
While Rakesh is known for his work in comedies, the Dhurandhar films brought an intense side of his, although the movies also tap into his infectious charisma and impetuous comic timing. The second film in the franchise, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, brought a much-appreciated conclusion to his character's arc, winning fans over with the deep level of detailing that has been integrated into Jameel Jamali across the two films. The films' lead actor Ranveer Singh paid him a huge compliment, attributing much of the franchise's success to his co-star.
