Veteran actor Navnindra Behl, known for her work in Queen and Oye Lucky Lucky Oye among other films, passed away recently. She was 76 years old at the time of her demise. Her son Kanu Behl, who is also a writer-filmmaker, shared the news on his social media page.
Sharing his mother’s picture from her younger years, Kanu penned a poignant note on his Instagram page, stating, “My Titan. My faith. Love. Guide. Mentor. My heart. Go well, mumma. Until you birth me again. My eyes shall always seek that irrepressible smile, that warm chuckle, that bear hug, those burning curious eyes. Forever alight. Thank you for lighting my soul.”
While she worked in only a handful of Hindi films, Navnindra also gained popularity in TV with her work in shows like Dil Boley Oberoi and Ishqbaaz.
Her Ishqbaaz co-star Nakuul Mehta commented under Kanu Behl’s post, “Deepest condolences to Duniya, Sneha and you.” Among other film personalities to express their condolences were Harshvarrdhan Kapoor, Anurag Kashyap, Arati Kadav, Ranveer Shorey, Guneet Monga, Rekha Bhardwaj and Vijay Maurya.
Before her limited work in Hindi films though, Navnindra Behl prominently worked in Punjabi television and film industry, as an actor as well a writer-filmmaker. Her last on-screen appearance was in the 2023 film Khufiya.
