Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar 2 is all set for a massive worldwide release on March 19. There are plenty of speculations about the sequel, including the casting of the ‘Bade Sahab’ that was frequently alluded to in the first part which released in December. Meanwhile, during a recent interview, Anil Kapoor recalled how he was offered, and had to turn down, a role in Dhurandhar 2.

During his appearance at India Today Conclave, the actor said, “Aditya Dhar came to me for Dhurandhar 2. He wanted me to do a small cameo in the film.” While he did not share further details about the role, Anil Kapoor said that he rejected the role because of his prior commitments, speaking about the importance of professionalism. “The reason I am today, what I am today, is because of my professionalism and my commitment. That's very important. Only talent cannot make you what you are. So those days were committed to some other filmmaker,” he added.

At the same time, Anil Kapoor also called it his ‘loss’ that he is not a part of the much-awaited sequel. He said, “He's releasing the film now. It's a fantastic film, and it's my loss, but it's okay. Hopefully we'll work together.”

Anil Kapoor and Ranveer Singh have previously worked together in Dil Dhadakne Do (2015).

Meanwhile, Anil Kapoor recently had a major release with his OTT film Subedaar, where he received acclaim for his intense, action-heavy avatar.

On the other hand, Dhurandhar 2 is all set for a record-breaking day 1 at the box office. The film has already grossed over Rs 25 crore for its paid preview shows on March 18, with four days to go.
