On the occasion of Women’s Day, actor Babil Khan shared a heartfelt note dedicated to his mother, Sutapa Sikdar, expressing gratitude for the love, strength and guidance she has given him throughout his life.

Taking to social media, Babil reflected on the profound role his mother has played in shaping the person he is today. In his post, he wrote, “The first best friend, the first connection, the first woman to set the precedent for all the women to come. My mother. For me. Happy Women’s Day. (I was tagging her to this post and started wondering why I couldn’t find her account, realised I was searching for “@mamma” 😂❤️)”

On the work front, Babil’s last project was the OTT film Logout (2025). His performance in Netflix series The Railway Men (2023) was also lauded. The actor got embroiled in a controversy when he made a video “dissing” many of his colleagues in the industry. Later he said that his comments were taken out of context. Babil also took a break from work after the incident.
