Rajpal Yadav, who recently was released on interim bail after being arrested in a cheque-bounce case, will be seen in upcoming Akshay Kumar starrer Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan. During a recent interview, the filmmaker had expressed support towards the actor, also pointing to his educational background for his financial troubles. Now Rajpal Yadav has responded to the director’s remarks.
Speaking to Screen, the actor said, “Poor education doesn’t apply here. This is completely wrong. I am a well-educated person. I have been working from the age of 11 to 55. I’m like Priyanji’s son, but Priyanji or anyone else doesn’t know the full story, so such judgements don’t hold value.”
The actor recalled how many well-educated film personalities have landed in legal troubles earlier, adding, “But that has nothing to do with education. Had I been poorly educated, I wouldn’t have survived in this industry for 25–30 years.”
At the same time, Rajpal Yadav mentioned Priyadarshan as one of the three directors he immensely respects, along with Ram Gopal Varma and David Dhawan. “I’ve done over 50 films with just these three,” he recalled.
Priyadarshan and Rajpal Yadav have worked together in many popular comedies like Hungama, Chup Chup Ke, and Khatta Meetha among others. Meanwhile, Bhooth Bangla is set for a theatrical release on April 10.
