Randeep Hooda, who began his career in 2005 with the underworld drama D, has also been part of many Salman Khan starrers like Kick and Sultan, both of which were major box office hits. During a recent interview, Randeep Hooda spoke about the one time Salman Khan gave him a career advice, and why Randeep chose to avoid it.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter India, Randeep recalled, "His (Salman Khan’s) main advice was not to take on roles where I did not look heroic. It’s good advice… My father also says the same thing. Then, he said, ‘You should look the same and do the same kind of roles, which will help earn an image and become a star.'"
Elaborating on why he did not follow the advice, Randeep added, “I’ve always felt that repeatedly playing the same thing is boring. And that’s something I never wanted to do. I am not saying it’s not a great thing. But, how do you stay fresh over the years? Would you start sleepwalking through your roles? Would the gym become the only place where you practice? Hence, I didn’t follow his advice. However, you never know what lies in the future.”
Besides Kick and Sultan, Randeep and Salman also worked together in Prabhu Deva’s Radhe (2021), which wasn’t a big success however.
Randeep Hooda was recently seen in the second season of JioHotstar series Inspector Avinash. He is currently awaiting the release of Marchbox: The Movie, the action-adventure comedy directed by Sam Hargrave that stars John Cena, Jessica Biel, and Sam Richardson in the lead roles.
His upcoming projects include Eetha, the musical biopic headlined by Shraddha Kapoor that is set to release in August.
