Laapataa Ladies actor Satendra Soni alleges filmmaker of unpaid dues, assault: ‘Threatened me, beat me'

The actor also stated that he had shot for 8 days for the director’s new film before the team refused to pay his dues

On Sunday, actor Satendra Soni who is known for his work in Laapataa Ladies and Hello Bachhon, uploaded a series of video statements where he made serious allegations against filmmaker Pushpendra Singh and his wife of assault, non-payment od dues and criminal intimidation. 

On Instagram, the actor updates his fans and followers about the situation. As claimed by him, filmmaker Pushpendra Singh and his wife Pragati Chauhan, who is also playing the lead heroine in the film, had signed Satindra for a role in their upcoming film, Ped Padki, for which the shooting was being held in Madhya Pradesh. Satindra said in one of his videos from Madhya Pradesh, “I had come here to shoot a film for 10 days, whose director is Pushpendra Singh. He had given me Rs 50,000 as signing amount, and told me that I will get rest of the payment after the shoot. We have completed eight days of shoot today.”

Further informing that when he brought up the topic of payment of dues, the filmmaker asked him to pack up, threatening him and saying, “I don’t want to see you at the hotel.” Satindra also shared a detailed note, where he gave further details, accusing the filmmaker and his wife of attacking him in public later on.

“The three of us were walking when they chased us in a car. His wife Pragati Chauhan and him started beating me in the middle of the road. They even tried to snatch my mobile phone,” he stated.      

In his last post so far, Satindra updated his fans that he had reached Mumbai safely, along with his two associates. The Laapataa Ladies also thanked Madhya Pradesh police for their support.

Satendra, who first shot to limelight with Laapataa Ladies (2024), has also made appearance in films like Doctor G, Bawaal, and Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders. Satindra’s upcoming projects include Mirzapur: The Movie, which is set for a September release.
