The OTT release date for Akshay Kumar starrer Bhooth Bangla is out now. According to the listing on Netflix, the comedy-fantasy will begin streaming on Friday, June 12.
Also starring Wamiqa Gabbi and Tabu in key roles, Bhooth Bangla marked the reunion between Akshay and director Priyadarshan after 16 years. The film revolves around Arjun who returns to Mangalpur after his grandfather’s demise, to use the ancestral haveli for his sister's wedding and also to pay off his debts. However, everyone advises him against the marriage ceremony considering the village is reeling under the curse of Vadhusur, a demon who abducts newly-wed brides — but Arjun remains adamant in his goals.
Produced by Akshay and Ektaa R Kapoor, Bhooth Bangla emerged as a successful commercial venture despite receiving mixed reviews, having grossed more than Rs 200 crores in India, and nearly 270 crores worldwide. The film is still playing in many tier-1 cities, in its 8th week.
The ensemble cast for Bhooth Bangla includes Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, Paresh Rawal, and Mithila Palkar.
Meanwhile, Akshay is gearing for the release of another big-scale entertainer, Welcome To The Jungle.
Set for release on June 26, the film boasts a massive ensemble cast including Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Jacqueline Fernandez, Jackie Shroff, Lara Dutta, Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Aftab Shivdasani, and Mukesh Tiwari.
