Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut did not mince words in her responses to student protests across the country over NEET paper leaks. In lengthy posts on social media, Kangana criticised the students who protested against the central government. She pointed her criticism towards the content in the reels of the students from the protests, describing it as 'puke-inducing,' 'crass' and 'jarring'.

The actor added, "India is a place of diversely beautiful people, draped in elegance and rooted in cultural sophistication, you call yourself cockroaches and look/behave like them as well there is no paradox or juxtaposition there, just simply subjecting the world to your filth, garbage and ugliness."

Kangana Ranaut also said that she found the way "young Hindu women" behaved during the protests "the most appalling". The actor-politician argued that their actions go against the women she considers truly independent, alleging that the latter do not conduct similarly to the protesters and that too "at the cost of their parents or families".

Calling these protesters "a new generation of so-called Westernised Indian women," Kangana described them as "Generation Gutter". She said that some of these protesters "have nothing to offer to the system. They are not good at studies. They are so ugly and corrupt that they can't even be homemakers."

Kangana's statements have been drawing strong criticism from the general public and those in the film industry. For example, singer-composer Vishal Dadlani hit back at the actor-politician saying, "They lathi-charged kids on the roads, threw stones, used tear gas, and fired pellet guns. Your paid goons are still terrorising them. And you're talking about their language? You earned those abuses, my friend!"

On the other hand, Rakhi Sawant slammed Kangana in a video, where she said that the latter is not entitled to talk ill of students who fight for their fundamental rights, and she described the actor-politician's comments as being socially harmful.
