Actor Salman Khan has joined the long list of celebrities who have voiced their support for the ongoing Cockroach Janata Party-led protests at Jantar Mantar over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak. The star raised his support for the student protestors through his social media handles, calling the matter a "very serious issue".

Salman Khan expressed his sadness and concern on the movement taking a violent turn and said, "My heart goes out to the students and their families who were hurt. I am glad to know n see that the kids of our country have come together for a better educational system, and their parents supported them."

However, he said the protests should not be "hijacked politically". "I truly appreciate the stand they have taken, showing dedication, sincerity, and keenness to study hard n make their future and a greater, educated India," he added, stating that the protest was the "right way" to register their angst. "So courageous and brave. Driven and motivated towards education, this generation will make India proud," he said.

He further shared, "I am sure the government will also give them all the support n make it a stronger educational system. It’s a win-win situation. Hoping n praying for a positive decision. God bless all of you who wanna be educated." Concluding his post, Salman said education in the country should become a 'fashion trend' so that students from abroad come to India to study.

Previously Hrithik Roshan, Omi Vaidya, Shabana Azmi, Rajkummar Rao, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia, Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah, Abhay Deol, Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha, among many others supported the students via their posts on social media with some of them entering the protest premises themselves. However, Salman is first of the Khans to break his silence on the issue.
