Actors Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta met after a long time at the tennis tournament Wimbledon. The reunion happened more than 20 years after they starred together for the first time in Andaaz. Sharing a picture featuring her with Priyanka from Wimbledon, Lara wrote, "26 years later, happy girls are still the...." It is an acknowledgement of the fact that they won major international beauty pageant titles in the same year, 2000. On the other hand, Priyanka wrote, "So good to see my girl Lara Bhupathi." It is worth noting that Lara Dutta is married to Tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi.
Notably, both Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta entered the film industry after starting their careers with modelling. While Lara was crowned Miss Universe in 2000, Priyanka became Miss World in that year.
Andaaz (2003) marked Lara Dutta's acting debut, whereas it is Priyanka's second film in Hindi.
The actors also starred together in 2006's Don remake, starring Shah Rukh Khan. While they do not share screen space in Don, they do appear together in the film's 2011 sequel.
Priyanka also have a special appearance in the 'You Get Me Rockin and Reeling' song from 2009's Billu, starring Shah Rukh, Lara, and Irrfan Khan. The actor can be seen in the 'Khudaya Khair' song as well from the same film, alongside Shah Rukh, Irrfan, and Lara.
Lara is part of the cast for Ramayana: Part 1, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. The actor plays Lord Ram's stepmother, Queen Kaikeyi, in the film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Her upcoming projects include the long-delayed Suryast.
On the other hand, Priyanka Chopra is coming back to Indian cinema after a long gap with a role in SS Rajamouli's Varanasi, co-starring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
