Filmmaker Priyadarshan is known for his countless comedy films, especially in Malayalam and Hindi cinema. Many actors have said that working on Priyadarshan films is an experience comparable to attending big parties and outdoor excursions. Perhaps this experience is why certain actors, such as Akshay Kumar and Mohanlal, choose to collaborate with the legendary filmmaker time and again.

Earlier today, Akshay appeared on video through social media to wish his frequent collaborator, one of Indian cinema's most popular filmmakers, on his birthday. Rocking back and forth on a wooden horse model, Akshay said, "Many many happy returns of the day, Priyan sir. You are turning 69, a great age sir. Great age!"

The actor wished the filmmaker well for his upcoming projects before saying, "Also a friend of mine wants to wish you sir." Eventually, Vidya Balan makes a surprise appearance in the video, a bit like her character in Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and says, "Happy birthday Priyan sir and all the best for Bhooth Bangla." Eventually, the two of them start laughing hysterically, resembling the spirit of countless Priyadarshan comedies. In the caption for the post, the actor wrote, "Here’s wishing the best birthday to one of the best human beings I know. Have a blessed year Priyan Sir, Janamdin ki bhooth bhooth badhai ;)."

Speaking of which, the filmmaker is set to reunite with Akshay on multiple projects, one of which is the horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla. The latest video raises speculation as to whether Vidya Balan also plays a cameo role in the film. After all, it is a Priyadarshan film—anything can happen, including major surprises.
