Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming film, starring Diljit Dosanjh, Vedang Raina and Sharvari in the lead, now has a release date. On Thursday, the makers announced that the film will release in theatres on June 12, 2026.

The project, untitled as yet, is billed as ‘a contemporary and witty narrative that explores the depth of human connection, love and longing.’  Speaking about the film earlier, Imtiaz had said, “This is a film that I feel fortunate to be working on. It’s about what is left with us when everything else is lost. The love that refuses to be left behind guides us through the highs and lows of life and remains the everlasting song on our lips and smile in our heart. The film has a large canvas, yet is very personal. It is a story of a boy and a girl, but also a country. ”

While Imtiaz has worked previously with Diljit (in Amar Singh Chamkila), this would be his first collaboration with Naseeruddin Shah and Sharvari. AR Rahman and Irshad Kamil are the music composer and lyricist for the film, respectively.

Produced by Applause Entertainment, Window Seat Films, and Mohit Choudhary, the film has prominent technicians like cinematographer Sylvester Fonseca and production designer Suman Roy Mahapatra on board. Other key crew members include sound designer Dhiman Karmarkar and costume designer Sheetal Sharma.

The project was announced in June last year. The shooting for the film came to a wrap in December, after commencing in August.

Meanwhile, Imtiaz has another project lined up for Netflix, O Saathi Re, starring Avinash Tiwary, Aditi Rao Hydari and Arjun Rampal in the lead.
