Among the many things that caught the movie-goers’ attention in the recently-released teaser of Shahid Kapoor-Triptii Dimri’s O'Romeo, was the brief use of the romantic song ‘Hum To Tere Liye Hi,’ which provided a lovely contrast to the dark, intense energy of the teaser. On Friday, the makers of O’Romeo released the full single.

Penned by Gulzar, ‘Hum To Tere Hi Liye’ is a classic Vishal Bharadwaj composition — warm and romantic with a smouldering intensity. After beginning on a soft note, the song reaches a moment of rousing moment that one usually associates with Arijit Singh. The composition is also heavy on use of acoustics, which bring a sense of nostalgia and melancholy to the composition.

The team also released a brief lyrical video of the song that captures moments of similar intensity between the two protagonists, as they develop strong feelings for each other over many innocuous meetings. O’Romeo marks the 23rd feature film collaboration between Gulzar and Vishal Bhardwaj in their 30 years of association.

Besides Shahid and Triptii, O’Romeo features many stellar names in the primary cast like Nana Patekar, Farida Jalal, Vikrant Massey, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Disha Patani. According to some reports, Randeep Hooda too is part of the cast.

Vishal Bhardwaj has penned the dialogues, besides co-writing the screenplay with Rohan Narula. Story is by Hussain Zaidi. Cinematography is helmed by Ben Bernhard.

Produced under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, O’Romeo releases in theatres on February 13, during Valentine's week.
