On Monday, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri took to his X page to praise Dhurandhar, the Ranveer Singh starrer espionage thriller directed by Aditya Dhar that has taken the box office by storm

Penning an elaborate note, Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri praised Aditya Dhar for pulling off a film of such big scale and clear vision. “The vision, the writing, the confidence, the belief in your own instinct… this kind of cinema doesn’t happen by chance,” he wrote.

Talking about the performances, Vivek noted, “even the smallest, most insignificant characters have delivered top-notch performances. Every face feels cast, directed, and placed with intention.” While Vivek Agnihotri didn’t specify a particular cast member, Vivek Agnihoti showered praises on key technicians like production designer Saini S Johray, cinematographer Vikas Nowlakha, and music composer Shashwat Sachdev. He was especially effusive in his praise for Vikas, whose work he called ‘next textbook for young DOPs.’

Further talking about Aditya Dhar, Vivek penned, “This is you operating on another level. I watched the film with genuine pride… proud of you, proud of the craft, proud of Indian cinema. You are blessed. Truly. God’s own child. More power to you. When the younger generation does work like this, Indian cinema moves forward.”

A few days ago, Anurag Kashyap too had taken to social media to express his views on Dhurandhar, calling it ‘a significant film,’ adding, "I have known Aditya Dhar since his national award film film Boond. It’s his politics."

As of Sunday, The Ranveer Singh starrer has grossed more than Rs 1200 crores worldwide at the box office, according to Sacnilk.com.  The spy thriller also features Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sara Arjun in the lead cast.
