Notable actor Pravina Deshpande, who worked in many significant movies in the past 20 years in Hindi cinema, passed away on Tuesday, February 17. The actor was 60 years old at the time of her demise. Her family confirmed the news on Pravina’s social media page.
Pravina was battling with blood cancer for some time. During an interview in 2024, the actor had talked about being diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2019. But since the prognosis was positive, the actor continued working in movies and TV shows, hoping to get back to a life of normalcy.
Pravina, who was also a major figure in Marathi cinema, was part of many Hindi films like Ready, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Parmanu, Aligarh, Ek Villain, and D-Day. Her work in OTT space included shows like Laakhon Mein Ek, Rocket Boys, and The Family Man. Her TV credits include popular shows like Kulfi Kumar Bajewala, Kumkum and Ghar Ek Mandir.
She recently also appeared in the Emraan Hashmi starrer web-series Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web.
The cremation was held on Tuesday afternoon. Pravina is survived by her husband and two children.
