Tu Yaa Main, the survival thriller directed by Bejoy Nambiar which released theatrically on February 13, has largely received positive reviews from critics and audience alike. The film, featuring Shanaya Kapoor and Shanaya Kapoor in leading roles, has now words of appreciation from from Mani Ratnam.

The film’s producers Colour Yellow Productions shared a video compilation of reactions from a recent screening held in Chennai, which the Thug Life filmmaker attended. Post the film screening, Mani Ratnam said, “Bejoy Nambiar has brought a kinetic energy to the film that is best seen on the big screen with an audience.” It is to be noted that before beginning his career as a director, Bejoy had worked with Mani Ratnam on his 2010 bilingual action-drama Raavan/Raavanan, serving as a line-producer.

The video also features enthused bytes from other audience members who appreciate the film’s nail-biting thrills.

At the box office, Tu Yaa Main registers a massive growth on Saturday after taking a slow start on opening day. The film’s Sunday collections too were higher than Friday, signalling a decent word-of-mouth buzz. As of on Monday 6pm, the film has grossed 3.1 crore at the domestic box office. In our review for the film, we noted, “What it lacks in its scriptwriting, it more than makes up with its commitment to its territory. The film succeeds in delivering these sensory, momentary pleasures that keep us on the edge. The effect only becomes more impactful with the cinematography and sound design that keep us immersed in that gloomy atmosphere.”

Tu Yaa Main is produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma under the banner of Colour Yellow Productions, along with Vinod Bhanushali and Kamlesh Bhanushali of Bhanushali Studios Limited.
