Govinda, who has been making headlines recently because of many stories related to his personal life, recently spoke up against Karan Johar, alleging him of defamation with a film that he produced in 2022, titled Govinda Naam Mera.

In a recent interview, Govinda referred to the 2022 film, alleging that the film title used his name in a defamatory manner. He said, “He made a film with that name Govinda Naam Mera. And what was the subject? A married man is shown with a girlfriend, which leads to a big fight with his wife. As a result, the wife begins doubting her husband’s intentions, and vice-versa.” Accusing Karan Johar of taking unsavoury digs at his personal life, Govinda added, “Sometimes people do this — mixing these stories in someone’s personal lives.”

The veteran actor also warned the filmmaker of stern repercussions. “If i ever grab a hold of him, like Rajinikanth sir does (in his films), I will give him such a treatment in broad daylight. No misbehaviour, please — I request. Jokes are good only till an extent,” he added.

Starring Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, and Kiara Advani in lead roles, Govinda Naam Mera had a direct-to-OTT release in December 2022. The film was directed by Shashank Khaitaan.
