Mrunal Thakur: Bheegi Bheegi is like Sita Ramam set in an alternate world

Bheegi Bheegi marks Mrunal Thakur's comeback to music video space after five years

Earlier, we reported about Mrunal Thakur and Dulquer Salmaan featuring in a music video, titled 'Bheegi Bheegi', with composition by AR Rahman and vocals by AR Ameen and Jasleen Royal. Recently, Mrunal talked about her experience working on the video, which brings her back together with Rahman and Dulquer after a long time.

Speaking to HT City, Mrunal said that it marks her comeback to the music video space after five years. The actor said that there is "a huge difference" in coming back to it at a time when she is in a different phase of her career. The actor revealed that, despite tasting success in feature films, she wants to be part of short films, web series, music videos, and films in different languages. "I want to break those barriers," she said while underscoring the story as the key aspect she considers in such projects.

Speaking of which, Mrunal said that 'Bheegi Bheegi' gives off a "dystopian" vibe, different from what she has done so far in his career. The video presents her in different versions, including a cartoon character and a puppet. Mrunal also expressed her excitement about collaborating with AR Ameen, son of Rahman. The actor noted that she began her career with Love Sonia, which has music by Rahman. "Now, to collaborate with Rahman sir yet again and Ameen is beautiful. Jasleen is a friend, so I am really excited about all of us coming together."

She also discussed reuniting with Dulquer Salmaan for the first time after 2022's love story Sita Ramam. She agreed with the assertion that 'Bheegi Bheegi' is like "Sita Ramam set in an alternate universe". She mentioned that in spite of her and Dulquer's busy schedules, the dates aligned perfectly for the shoot for the video.
