After showing an impressive boost in its collections over the weekend, Mardaani 3 witnessed a significant drop in its collections on its first Monday. Directed by Abhiraj Minawala, the Rani Mukerji starrer is the third instalment of the Mardaani franchise.
The film’s collections on day 4 stand at Rs 2.25 crore (nett), according to industry tracker Sacnilk. That’s a drop of nearly 70 percent from its Sunday figures of Rs 7.25 crore. As of on Tuesday 2pm, the film’s domestic collections stand at Rs 20.21 crore (nett).
Considering there is no major release this week, Mardaani 3 would have had a considerable chance to sustain a two-week run at the box office. However, going by the current trend, it looks difficult for Mardaani 3 to emerge as a box office success. It also remains to be seen whether Mardaani 3 will surpass the collections of Mardaani 2, which released in 2019 and garnered Rs 47 crore (nett) at domestic box office.
Produced by Yash Raj Films, Mardaani 3 also features Mallika Prasad in the lead cast, as the main antagonist. In our review for the film, we noted, “Mardaani 3 hangs somewhere between serving the nuance of an impactful story and the hoot-worthiness of a mass entertainer. It patiently builds but then loses all patience.”
