Jio Studios and Golden Ratio Films today unveiled the trailer of their upcoming project Ghamasaan, which premieres on ZEE5 on September 11. Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the film features Arshad Warsi and Pratik Gandhi in lead roles.

Set against the Hindi heartland, Ghamasaan tells the story of Maharaj (Arshad Warsi), an outlaw thriving and ruling over the jungles of Bundelkhand, feared and revered at once, but untraceable through it all. However, the feathers are temporarily ruffled with the arrival of Aditya (Pratik Gandhi), a sincere cop who is determined to nab Maharaj or atleast bring him under control by hook or crook. As the cat-and-mouse chase begins, what unfolds is the chaos that erupts from the clash of two contrasting ideas of power and justice.

The supporting cast includes Ishita Dutta and Rajpal Yadav in key roles, among others. Ghamasaan has earlier had screenings at MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, Cinevesture International Film Festival and Chicago South Asian Film Festival. The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande (Jio Studios), Piiyush Singh, Abhayanand Singh, Saurabh Gupta & Ashwini Chaudhary (Golden Ratio Films) and Miten Shah (Yaelstar Films).

Tigmanshu Dhulia said in an official statement, “Ghamasaan is rooted in a world that I have always been drawn to, its people and the complexities that shape their lives. Arshad and Pratik have brought tremendous intensity to these roles.” Arshad Warsi said, “Playing Maharaj allowed me to explore a completely different side of myself as an actor. Playing a negative character with so much darkness, unpredictability and rawness was challenging, but also something I enjoyed. Working with Tigmanshu, I gave in to his vision.”

Pratik Gandhi said, “What drew me to Ghamasaan was the passion and intensity that drive my character Aditya. But as he goes deeper into the pursuit with courage, of bringing Maharaj to justice, he discovers that he isn’t fighting just one individual—he is fighting a well-designed system. Working with Tigmanshu sir and sharing the screen with Arshad was a wonderful experience.”

Kaveri Das, Business Head, Hindi Zee 5 and Chief Channel Officer &TV, said, “For us, great storytelling has been about taking risks, backing strong voices and not being afraid to challenge convention. That’s what makes a story like Ghamasaan particularly exciting. It is rooted, intense and driven by characters who don’t fit neatly into boxes and that’s what makes them interesting.”

Piiyush Singh, Writer & Producer, Golden Ratio Films, said, “In the ravines of Bundelkhand, where the line between law and outlaw dissolves into dust and blood, Ghamasaan is not just a chase — it is a fierce collision of two unyielding forces. This is the story I had to tell: raw, unflinching, and rooted in the soil of our heartland.”
