There had been a lot of buzz and excitement about Animal Park, the official sequel to Animal that was announced in the post-credits scene of the 2023 Ranbir Kapoor starrer. However, there have been no major updates on the Animal sequel for a long time, considering Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s busy schedule with Spirit, the much-anticipated Prabhas starrer that is tentatively set for March 5, 2027 release. However, Sandeep’s brother and Animal producer Pranay Reddy Vanga recently shared a tentative update on the shoot commencement for Animal Park. 

Speaking to NTV Telugu, Pranay said, “We will take a 6-month break immediately after Spirit — only after the break will we start working on Animal Park.” At the same time, the producer also implied that it would be difficult to provide a stringent timeline for Animal Park, considering Sandeep’s slow writing process. “He will take time. He writes very slow,” he added.

Among other subjects, Pranay also spoke about the controversial exit of Deepika Padukone from the Prabhas starrer Spirit an year ago. Providing clarity on the issue, Pranay stated that there were few conditions on which Deepika and Sandeep couldn’t agree, leading to the former exiting the project. He added, "The reason is the same as what was already mentioned. One was remuneration, the second was timing. Apart from that, there are some other reasons too.”

Meanwhile, it is being reported that Prakash Raj, whose voiceover featured in the film’s audio teaser, too has walked out of Spirit. Besides Prabhas, the film stars Vivek Oberoi and Tripti Dimrii in the lead cast. The first audio teaser of the film was unveiled in November.

It is to be noted that Pranay Reddy Vanga is the producer for Sandeep’s directorial debut Arjun Reddy (2017) as well as Animal (2023).
