Pankaj Tripathi, who recently completed 22 years in the industry, is currently busy promoting Mirzapur: The Movie, the film spinoff of his popular series where he plays Kaleen Bhaiyya. During one of the visits to Patna, his home town, the actor got nostalgic and took the attendees down memory lane, sharing anecdotes from his early days.

Reminiscing his foundational years, when he used to ride his bicycle every single day from Kankarbagh to Khagaul just to attend play rehearsals, Pankaj Tripathi said, "It was right here that I performed my very first play at NC Ghosh Institute in Khagaul. For about a month and a half, I used to cycle all the way from Kankarbagh to come here for the performances. So, when I arrived at the station 30 years later and saw the NC Ghosh building, memories from those days came flooding back."

Standing before a cheering crowd in his home state, Pankaj also expressed his love for the region, adding how proud he feels to see the warmth, love, and growth of Bihar over the years, talking about how coming to Bihar always feels like a full-circle moment and serves as a grounded reminder of his roots and struggles.

Presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, Mirzapur: The Movie is directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna. Designed specifically for the big screen, the film features a massive ensemble including Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Mohitt Maalik, Sheeba Chadha, Rajesh Tailang, Harshita Shekhar Gaur, Shweta Tripathi, and Sonal S Chauhan.

Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, alongside co-producers Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani, the cinematic adaptation expands the timeline that first captivated audiences in 2018. In a narrative twist, the film will also mark the return of fan-favorite characters like Divyenndu's Munna Bhaiya, Kulbhushan Kharbanda’s Satyanand Tripathi, and Shriya Pilgaonkar’s Sweety Gupta.

The film is scheduled for a massive worldwide theatrical release on September 4, 2026.
