Also directed by Kunal Kemmu, the film additionally stars Preity Zinta in a prominent role

The makers of upcoming Kunal Kemmu directorial Vibe unveiled the first teaser of their film on Friday. Also starring Preity Zinta and Laapataa Ladies fame Sparsh Shrivastava in the lead cast, Vibe is set for theatrical release on September 18.

The Vibe teaser begins on a quintessentially rousing note that we usually associate spy actioners with, before revealing its two protagonists — Hardik and Bugs (played by Kunal and Sparsh), a pair of unlikely secret agents who must embark on a high-stakes mission, much against their lack of self-belief in their talent and potential as protectors of the nation. As the mission in-charge (Preity Zinta) tries to motivate them, we get more funny one-liners by the two agents who are clearly not prepared for the task. And yet, embark they must, on this mission against all barriers.

“A clueless slacker and his by-the-book best friend -- two men who can barely manage their own lives -- find the fate of the nation in their hands when they accidentally stumble into a terrorist conspiracy,” the logline reads. Vibe promises to be a wacky comedy, blending high-speed chases and explosive action with self-aware humour.

Besides directing the comedy, Kunal is also onboard as a writer and co-producer, sharing the latter’s credits with Chirag Nihalani. The supporting cast of Vibe includes Vashika Dhir, Dinesh Lal Yadav, Yashpal Sharma, and Salem Guermat.

Presented by Amazon MGM Studios, Vibe has music by Amit Trivedi and lyrics by Kumaar. In the technical team, Kaushal Shah helms cinematography, Prachi Deshpande is the production designer, while editing is co-helmed by Anand Subaya and Sanjay Shrirang Ingle.

Kunal made his directorial debut nearly 2.5 years ago with Madgaon Express, which received plenty of rave reviews and moderate success at the box office.
