Actor Ranbir Kapoor is set to make his comeback to the big screen for the first time after 2023's Animal with the titular role in director Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming film, Ramayana. Made as a two-parter, the first instalment in the franchise is set for a Diwali 2026 release, with the second one being scheduled for the same holiday season next year.

Ramayana: Part 1 is among the most highly anticipated Indian films of 2026 not just among fans but also the official list of the film database IMDb. Recently, Ranbir Kapoor spoke to IMDb about his experience using the database.

Speaking at a Comic Con event, Ranbir said that he recently used the database to learn about the films of his Ramayana stunt director Guy Norris. "Just wanted to see what films he has done," the actor said about Norris.

Also revealing himself as an IMDbPro member, Ranbir shared that he has been using the platform for "like more than 25 years" now. The actor said that he initially started using IMDb to see the ratings for films and called himself "a big fan" of the database. Interestingly, the actor also shared that he used it to learn about the works of his film school faculty. "Our teachers were on IMDb. I used it to learn about them. So I think IMDb has really been a film school itself for me, apart from the film school I went to," the actor stated.

Ranbir Kapoor attended the School of Visual Arts for filmmaking education as well as the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York to study method acting. When he came back to India, Ranbir joined director Sanjay Leela Bhansali as an assistant on the 2005 film Black, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji. In 2007, he made his debut as a lead actor with Bhansali's Saawariya, and there has since been no looking back for him.
