Since veteran singer Asha Bhosle passed away, tributes from the film industry have been pouring in. Now, singer Shreya Ghoshal took to social media on late Monday to pay tributes to the versatile star.
Shreya put up a video of herself singing during her ‘The Unstoppable Tour’ in London. She can be seen crooning the heartfelt song ‘Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar’, originally sung by Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi for the 1961 film Hum Dono.
Shreya captioned the post, “Forever in our hearts, Asha Bhosle ji 🤍”
Bhosle passed away in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Sunday due to multiple-organ failure after being briefly hospitalised for exhaustion and chest infection. She was 92.
She began her career in 1943 and sang over 12,000 songs across languages and film industries. She was conferred with National Award twice in her career — in 1981 for Umrao Jaan and later in 1987 for Ijaazat. In 2008, she was also honoured with the Padma Vibhushan Award, which is the second-highest civilian award of India.
