The trailer of Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr starrer romantic-comedy Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. Directed by Prasshant Jha, the film is a spiritual sequel of the 2020 film Ginny Weds Sunny which starred Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam. The film has been produced by Vinod Bachchan.
Sunny (Avinash) and Ginny (Medha) meet in an arranged marriage setting and sparks don't exactly fly. Ginny is a peppy, modern girl from Delhi, while Sunny is a small-town simpleton. But since pressure is mounting from their respective families, they assent to the marriage but after lying about their professions. When truths are revealed, the comedy leads itself to a drama.
This marks the first time Avinash and Medha are collaborating for a film. Medha attained critical acclaim for her performance in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's 12th Fail (2023) while Avinash is known for his performances in Laila Majnu (2018), Bambai Meri Jaan (2023) and most recently Vishal Bhardwaj's O'Romeo.
Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 is scheduled to release on April 24.
