While the Ranveer Singh starrer Dhurandhar 2 has been multiple breaking box office records, social media and the film’s fan-club continued to await a reaction from Deepika Padukone, who has been conspicuously silent about the film. Even as many industry members showered praises upon Dhurandhar 2, the chatter continued about the possible reasons for Deepika not officially sharing her reaction to the film. On Tuesday evening, the Bajirao Mastani actor broke her silence on the subject.

Replying to a reel from a social media channel, that questioned why Deepika chose to not attend Dhurandhar 2 premiere, Deepika said in her comment, “I watched it way before anyone else did. Now who is the joke on?” On the night of Dhurandhar 2 special screening, which was attended by the film's entire cast and crew, Deepika was reportedly spotted attending a musical concert with her family. 

Also answering the question whether she is trying to make a statement against the director or dodging the internet’s favourite drama, Deepika succinctly replied, “The latter, my friend.”

It is to be noted that when Dhurandhar (2025) had released, Deepika did choose to post a positive review for the film on her social media page. "Dhurandhar has been watched, and it is worth every minute of those 3.34 hours. So do yourself a favour and get to a cinema hall NOW! So incredibly proud of you Ranveer! Congratulations to the entire cast and crew," she had penned.

Meanwhile on Tuesday, amidst its staggering box office run, Dhurandhar 2 crossed the 400 crore mark at overseas box office. According to a report from Sacnilk, the Aditya Dhar has grossed more than Rs 1640 crores worldwide, and is only next to Pushpa 2: The Rule now, as far as domestic collections are concerned.
