The teaser of Sanjay Dutt and Mithun Chakraborty’s son Namashi Chakraborty starrer Aakhri Sawal was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. Directed by Abhijeet Mohan Warang and written by Utkarsh Naithani, the film revolves around a debate on whether the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is an anti-national organisation and their involvement in the 1992 Babri Masjid demolition.
The teaser shows Sanjay Dutt playing the role of Professor Gopal Nadkarni, whose student Vicky Hegde (Namashi) is writing a thesis on the 100 years of the RSS. Vicky raises questions at the organisation and a debate ensues between professor and pupil which garners nationwide media attention.
The film’s official synopsis reads: “Aakhri Sawal follows Vicky, a brilliant yet volatile scholar, who ignites a nationwide controversy by publicly accusing his mentor, the legendary Professor Gopal Nadkarni, of institutional bias. What begins as an academic dispute soon spirals into a televised intellectual battlefield, fueled by media sensationalism and political agendas.”
Aakhri Sawal also features Amit Sadh, Sameera Reddy and Neetu Chandra in pivotal roles. The film is scheduled to release on May 8.
