Actor Akshay Kumar visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on Wednesday morning to offer prayers ahead of the release of his upcoming film Bhooth Bangla, which hits theatres on April 10. Akshay was accompanied by his mother-in-law and veteran actor Dimple Kapadia during the visit.
Soon after offering prayers, Akshay spoke to ANI about his visit and shared that he prayed not just for himself but for the entire country and his loved ones. "It was really good... I prayed for the entire country and my family. I prayed that our country may always excel and progress."
The Mahakaleshwar Temple, situated on the banks of the Shipra River in Ujjain, holds immense religious significance as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.
Directed by Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla marks the filmmaker and the actor's reunion after nearly 14 years. The horror-comedy also features Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, Asrani, and Wamiqa Gabbi in key roles.
Akshay Kumar had also recently joined the cast of Rohit Shetty's Golmaal 5. The film will see Ajay Devgn returning to lead the cast and will also star Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu, Sharman Joshi and Tushar Kapoor.
He is also a part of Welcome To The Jungle, helmed by choreographer/ director Ahmed Khan (Baaghi 2, Baaghi 3 and Heropanti 2) and boasting a cast of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arshad Warsi, among others, which is scheduled to release on June 26.
